Would that England had one ... a Parliament that is.

I am going back and reading up on the causes of the English Civil War ... there's some remarkable similarities - except there is no passionate spokesman for the English in this mockery of a Parliament.

You have got it in a nutshell. The real issue here is the sheer power that has been passed to the police service, ostensibly to support their fight against crime and terrorism. The cost in terms of the liberty and freedom of the individual has been decimated as a consequence. This has happened over the last 11 years, so few MP's from whichever side of the house, can complain when they become the victim of these massive powers. I only wish they would use the Green case to review the level of new powers that have been passed to the police at the expense of individual liberty, freedom and privacy. The police powers are draconian and not for the first time, they have run roughshod over the individual, only on this occasion, it was a minister. I am not anti-police, but I object to the way they have been given whatever powers they want, with little or no scrutiny.
